Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-04
1. Who we are and what TaskJai does
TaskJai (“the Platform”, “we”) is an online marketplace that connects people who need household and property tasks done on Koh Samui, Thailand (“Customers”) with independent local service providers (“Taskers”).
TaskJai provides matching, in-app communication, payment processing, and dispute-support tools only. TaskJai is not a party to the service agreement formed between a Customer and a Tasker, does not perform tasks, and does not employ Taskers.
2. Taskers are independent contractors
Taskers are independent service providers, not employees, agents, or representatives of TaskJai. Taskers decide entirely for themselves which tasks to offer on, what price to offer (the Platform never sets or fixes prices), when and how to perform accepted work, and whether to accept or decline any engagement.
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between TaskJai and any user.
3. Accounts and identity verification
You must be at least 20 years old (the age of majority in Thailand) and provide accurate information to create an account.
Taskers must complete identity verification (Thai national ID card or passport, plus a selfie) before making offers. Customers must complete the same verification before posting tasks above the high-value threshold shown in the app.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account.
4. Posting tasks and making offers
Tasks are limited to the service categories listed in the app and to locations on Koh Samui. Prohibited: childcare, elder care, medical or personal care, beauty services, vehicle repair, any work requiring a professional licence the Tasker does not hold, and anything illegal.
A Customer's budget is guidance only. A binding service agreement between Customer and Tasker is formed when the Customer accepts (“awards”) an offer.
5. Payments
When a Customer awards an offer, the offered amount is charged through our payment processor (Stripe). TaskJai does not provide escrow, wallets, stored balances, or delayed-capture payment services.
After approval or auto-release, TaskJai pays out to the Tasker the offered amount minus the platform service fee that was disclosed to the Tasker when the offer was made. Payouts are made by bank transfer or PromptPay.
TaskJai does not provide wallets or stored balances. Funds pass through per task; we hold no long-lived user balances.
6. Cancellations, disputes, and refunds
A Customer may cancel a task before completion is submitted. If the customer has already been charged, TaskJai may issue a refund through Stripe according to these Terms and our support review.
After a Tasker submits completion with photo proof, the Customer has a review window (currently 4 days, shown in the app) to approve the work or raise a dispute. If the Customer does neither within that window, the task closes automatically and TaskJai records the tasker payout as owed.
If either party disagrees about a task (quality, completion, non-performance), they may raise a dispute in the app. The task description is the agreed scope of work, and the photo proof and chat history are the record. Where the issue is fixable, the Tasker will normally be offered one opportunity to correct the work before any refund is decided.
TaskJai will review the task, chat history, and evidence, and decide whether to record the tasker payout as owed or refund the Customer. This decision process is a support tool, not arbitration, and does not limit either party's legal rights.
7. Reviews, conduct, and safety
After a completed task, both parties may leave a public review. Reviews must be honest and relate to the actual task experience.
You must not harass, discriminate, defraud, spam, or endanger other users; attempt to move payment for a matched task off-platform; or misuse the chat, reporting, or verification systems. You can report or block another user at any time from their profile or the chat.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law, or the safety of the community.
8. Liability
Tasks are performed by independent Taskers at the Customer's premises and risk. To the maximum extent permitted by Thai law, TaskJai's liability arising out of the platform service is limited to the platform fees we received for the task giving rise to the claim. TaskJai is not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of tasks, which are the responsibility of the contracting parties.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Thai law, including liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
9. Personal data
Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
10. Changes, governing law, and contact
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app at least 15 days before taking effect; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts. If the Thai and English versions of these Terms conflict, the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law.
